CO2 REDUCTION AND GREEN ENERGY
In 2019-20, we found out that the CO2 level in the environment was high across India. Towards a Social cause, we at Roots established a CO2 Reduction policy which also ensures Green energy focus.
Various measures were taken to improve this condition, and the CO2 emission was reduced by 85% in 2022-23. The CO2 generation reduction was majorly observed when the diesel furnaces were replaced by electric furnaces, which reduced our emissions by 58%.
By 2030, our target is to achieve less than 500T CO2 emission and be a “Carbon Neutral Organization” in 2045.
Out of total energy consumption, Green Energy Utilization is 80%, and we are on track to achieve 100% in the years to come.
THE SYNERGY: IoT, INDUSTRY 4.0, AND AUTOMATION
When IoT, Industry 4.0, and automation work together, they create a powerful synergy.
All the Pressure Die Casting machines in Roots Cast Private Limited are integrated with IoT, which enables the production data to be directly posted in SAP.
Through IoT, real-time OEE, process specs vs. actuals, and shift production plans vs. actuals are monitored.
IoT is also integrated with QMS documents for easy reference by operators on the control plan, Work in Progress, and Q-Alerts.
